DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in South Dakota... Big Sioux River at Watertown Broadway Avenue affecting Codington County. .For sites with a river forecast, the forecast includes precipitation through the next 24 hours. Any future precipitation could affect the forecasts. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Big Sioux River at Watertown Broadway Avenue. * WHEN...Until late tomorrow morning. * IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, The lower banks on both sides of the river downstream of the gauge are overtopped, and the lower lying areas along Kampeska Blvd, 4th Ave SW, and Riverside Park on Kemp Ave begin to flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:00 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 10.8 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 10:00 AM CDT Saturday was 10.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late tonight and continue falling to 9.7 feet Thursday morning. - Flood stage is 10.5 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

A contrail is an artificial cloud, created by the passing of an aircraft.

Contrails form because water vapor in the exhaust of aircraft engines is suspended in the air under certain temperatures and humidity conditions. These contrails are called exhaust contrails.

Another type of contrail can form due to a temporary reduction in air pressure moving over the plane's surface, causing condensation. These are called aerodynamic contrails.

When you can see your breath on a cold day, it is also because of condensation. The reason contrails last longer than the condensation from your breath is because the water in contrails freezes into ice particles.
